Arrive at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, where your driver and guide will welcome you upon arrival. From the airport, you will be transferred comfortably to your hotel.

Continue to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), a cultural park that introduces the diverse traditions of Indonesia. The park features traditional houses representing different regions across the country, giving visitors an overview of Indonesia’s architecture and cultural variety in one place.

In the afternoon, leave Jakarta and travel by highway towards Bandung, the capital of West Java. Nearby, Telaga Warna, or the “Colorful Lake,” offers a peaceful contrast with its changing shades surrounded by green hills.

In the afternoon, descend toward Magelang to visit Borobudur Temple, one of Indonesia’s most significant Buddhist monuments. The temple is known for its series of stone terraces, detailed Buddhist relief panels, and bell-shaped stupas. Continue to Tamansari Water Castle, a former royal garden with bathing pools, historic buildings, and underground passages. In the afternoon, visit Prambanan Temple, one of Indonesia’s most important Hindu temple complexes. Built in the 9th century, the temple is dedicated mainly to the Hindu trinity of Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma, with its tall stone structures standing prominently against the surrounding landscape. The visit offers an opportunity to see the architectural and religious heritage of ancient Java while learning more about the history of the region.

The day ends at Jalan Malioboro, Yogyakarta’s best-known city street and a lively area for shopping, local food, and souvenirs. Visitors can browse batik, handicrafts, and other locally made products while experiencing the everyday atmosphere of the city.

Day 7
Yogyakarta Station - Kertosono Station - Mount Bromo

Activities:

Itinerary Details:

Begin the journey by boarding the Taksaka Express Train from Yogyakarta to Kertosono, a town in East Java. The train ride offers a comfortable way to travel between Central and East Java while gradually leaving the urban surroundings behind.

Upon arrival at Kertosono Station, meet your driver and continue by road toward the Tengger Highlands. The journey takes you into a cooler mountainous area, with rural landscapes and views of the highlands along the way as you approach Mount Bromo.

Check in to your hotel near the Bromo caldera and take some time to rest. An early night is recommended, as the following morning begins before sunrise for an excursion to experience Mount Bromo and its surrounding volcanic landscape.

Mt. Penanjakan - Bromo Crater - Sea of Sand - Surabaya Airport

Activities:

  • Return hotel breakfast and transfer to Surabaya Airport

Itinerary Details:

Take an early 03:30 AM 4WD Jeep ride to Mount Penanjakan, one of the main viewpoints in the Bromo area at around 2,770 metres above sea level. From here, watch the sunrise gradually light up the volcanic landscape, with Mount Bromo in the foreground and Mount Semeru, Java’s highest mountain, visible in the distance.

After sunrise, descend into the vast Sea of Sand, a volcanic landscape surrounding Mount Bromo. Continue to the Bromo crater area and walk up the concrete steps to reach the crater rim, where you can see the active volcanic crater and the surrounding Tengger caldera.

Return to your hotel for breakfast and some time to rest before continuing with a direct transfer to Surabaya Airport. From the volcanic highlands of Bromo, the journey then continues towards Surabaya for your onward flight.
