This 3-day wildlife journey explores Tanjung Puting National Park through river cruising, jungle walks, and orangutan observation at Tanjung Harapan Camp and Camp Leakey. You will stay overnight aboard a traditional Kelotok houseboat while exploring the Sekonyer River and its surrounding rainforest, with opportunities to observe orangutans, proboscis monkeys, macaques, birds, and other wildlife.
Activities:
Upon arrival in Pangkalan Bun, You will be met and transferred to Kumai to board the Kelotok. The journey then continues along the Kumai River, where you can observe riverfront life and the role of boats as an important means of transportation in the area.
The boat continues toward the Sekonyer River, passing an estuarine environment with mangrove vegetation before reaching Tanjung Harapan Camp. The orangutan observation is scheduled at around 15:00, while wildlife such as proboscis monkeys, long-tailed macaques, red-leaf monkeys, silvered langurs, and birds may be seen along the riverbanks.
After the observation, the Kelotok continues upstream to find a suitable place to stay overnight. You can relax on board and continue wildlife spotting around the river before dinner.

Activities:
After breakfast, the journey continues by boat toward Camp Leakey, an orangutan rehabilitation and research site. The route passes through a side creek with tea-colored water, where freshwater crocodiles and other wildlife may sometimes be observed along the riverbanks.
After lunch, You continue with a jungle walk through rainforest, peat swamp forest, and lowland dipterocarp habitat. The walk provides opportunities to look for wildlife and observe plants such as fungi, orchids, mosses, and ferns before the scheduled orangutan observation at around 14:00.
Following the observation, the boat cruises downstream toward the Sekonyer River around sunset. A short night walk to look for nocturnal wildlife is available as an optional additional activity, subject to conditions. The night is spent aboard the Kelotok.

Activities:
After breakfast, the Kelotok cruises downstream toward Kumai while wildlife spotting continues along the river. If time permits, You may make a short visit to Sekonyer Village to observe local daily life and see the wooden boats along the canal.
The morning continues on the river, with coffee and wildlife observation from the boat. Orangutans may sometimes be seen foraging in trees near the riverbank, while crocodiles may also be visible under suitable weather conditions.
After arriving in Kumai, you will be transferred to Pangkalan Bun. A short stop at an orangutan souvenir shop may be possible before continuing to the next destination.
